Understand how TripCity calculates booking costs, including listing prices, transaction fees, and deposits.

What Is the Listing Price Fee?

  • The listing price is set by the vehicle owner.
  • Owners control their daily, weekly, or monthly rates.
  • You pay this fee upfront when submitting your booking request.
  • Extensions can be made directly in your dashboard, but they require the owner’s approval.

What Are TripCity’s Transaction Fees?

TripCity charges a daily Renter Transaction Fee, which covers insurance and platform costs. The fee varies by state:

  • AZ, CA, DC, FL, GA, IL, IN, MD, TX
    • $20/day for personal use
    • $26/day for rideshare use

  • CT, NV, NJ, PA, VA, WA (effective August 11, 2025)
    • $36/day for both personal and rideshare use

What About a Security Deposit?

  • TripCity does not require a deposit by default.
  • Vehicle owners may choose to set a deposit at their discretion.
  • Always check the vehicle description and confirm directly with the owner before booking.
