Early Returns and Refunds

What happens when you return a vehicle early and how refunds work.

Early Returns During an Active Rental

If you return a vehicle before the scheduled end time:

  • You will be refunded for the unused portion of the trip.
  • Refunds typically take 5–10 business days, depending on your bank.

Full Refund Requests

If you want a full refund:

  • Discuss this directly with the owner.
  • The owner must contact TripCity to authorize any additional refund changes.

TripCity cannot issue full refunds without owner approval.

Driver Responsibilities

  • Inspect the vehicle before check-in.
  • Address issues immediately with the owner.
  • Decide to cancel before check-in if the vehicle is not acceptable.

Once the rental is active, refund decisions depend on owner authorization.

Refund Processing Timelines

  • Unused-time refunds process automatically after early return.
  • Bank processing determines exact timing.
  • TripCity cannot expedite refunds.
