Extending an Active Booking

How drivers can extend rentals, payment requirements, and owner rights during active bookings.

How to Extend Your Rental

  • Log into your TripCity dashboard.
  • Select your active booking.
  • Choose the number of days you would like to extend for.
  • Submit the extension request through your card on file or add a new one.

Payment Requirements

  • Make sure you have enough funds available on your card before extending.
  • The card you use must be in your name.
  • TripCity does not support split payments or payment plans.
  • Extension payments are charged immediately at the time of the request.

Timing Is Important

  • Always extend your rental before the scheduled end time.
  • Requests made after the scheduled end may not be approved and can place your booking into late status, leading to daily late fees.

Communication Matters

  • If you expect issues with making a payment on time, notify the owner immediately.
  • Good communication helps prevent disputes, late fees, and possible account restrictions.

Owner Rights

Owners may:

  • Request their vehicle back at any time.
  • Decline or block extensions.
  • Disable the vehicle remotely if payment hasn’t been made.
  • Report the vehicle stolen if the driver is unresponsive and overdue.
