FleetIT Integration Guide

Automate toll management and reduce manual work with FleetIT.

Overview

Managing tolls manually is time-consuming and prone to error. TripCity has partnered with FleetIT to automate toll handling. With FleetIT, your tolls are:

  • Imported directly from the tolling authority.
  • Matched to the correct trip automatically.
  • Billed to the correct renter with minimal effort.

This guide covers:

  • How to set up your FleetIT integration.
  • How tolls flow into TripCity.
  • Best practices for reconciliation.
  • FAQs and troubleshooting tips.

Step 1: Connect Your FleetIT Account

  1. Log in to your TripCity Owner Dashboard.
  2. Navigate to Settings > Integrations.
  3. Select Connect with FleetIT.
  4. Sign in or create a FleetIT account.

Step 2: Import Vehicles

  1. In your dashboard, go to Active Listings.
  2. Locate the table showing vehicle details (nickname, year, make, model, VIN).
  3. Click Export in the top right corner.
  4. From the dropdown, select For FleetIT.
  5. A file will download to your computer (check your Downloads folder).
  6. Upload this file to the FleetIT onboarding screen.

Tip: You only need to connect FleetIT once. After setup, TripCity automatically syncs new toll charges daily.

Step 3: Automated Toll Handling

Once integrated:

  • Tolls are imported daily, matched to trips, and billed to the renter.
  • Notifications alert you when charges cannot be matched automatically.

FAQs

Q: Can I add new vehicles after connecting FleetIT?
Yes. Add the vehicle in FleetIT first, then trigger a Re-Sync in TripCity.

Q: How soon are tolls charged to renters?
Usually within 24–48 hours after FleetIT receives the toll from the tolling authority.

Troubleshooting

Issue: Duplicate charges appearing

  • Contact FleetIT Support.
