Personal Belongings
What happens if a driver forgets items in a TripCity vehicle after the rental ends.
TripCity Policy
- TripCity is not responsible for any personal belongings left in a rental vehicle.
- Drivers are expected to check the vehicle carefully at drop-off and remove all items.
- Owners are required to return forgotten items, though they may choose to do so at their discretion.
If You Are a Driver
- Before ending your rental, check:
- Seats (front and back)
- Trunk or storage areas
- Glove compartment and door pockets
- If you realize you forgot something after returning the vehicle:
- Contact the owner directly through the TripCity chat feature.
- Be respectful and clear about the item(s) you left behind.
- Arrange a mutually convenient way to collect them, if the owner agrees.
If You Are an Owner
- You are required to return personal belongings left in your vehicle.
- If you choose to return items, coordinate directly with the driver.
- You may arrange pickup or mailing at your discretion, but this is outside of TripCity’s coverage.
Best Practices
- For drivers: double-check the car before returning it.
- For owners: inspect the vehicle at check-out and note if anything was left behind.
- Use the TripCity chat to document communications in case disputes arise.
