Reporting an Accident - Driver
What to do in the event of an accident, who to contact, and what happens to your account.
Immediate steps
- Pull over when safe. Check for injuries. Call 911.
- Contact the owner immediately. Share location and a brief summary.
- File a police report. Get the report number.
- Document everything. Take clear photos of the scene, all vehicles, plates, licenses, insurance cards, and damage.
- Note date, time, location, and any witnesses.
Send your claim to TripCity
- Email all details and photos to claims@tripcity.com.
- Call the claims line: 213-513-2953.
- Include: your full name, Trip number, owner’s name, police report number, and a short incident summary.
Account status during review
- Your account is temporarily disabled while the claim is investigated.
- Watch your email for requests for more info.
Cooperate to stay in good standing
- Respond fast to the owner and TripCity.
- Provide additional photos, videos, documents, or statements when requested.
- Keep communications clear and factual.
Deductible and costs
- Drivers do not pay a deductible.
- The deductible is the owner’s responsibility.
What not to do
- Do not leave the scene without exchanging information or speaking to police if required.
- Do not repair the vehicle or move it after a serious collision unless instructed by authorities.
