Self-Service Courtesy Extensions give owners more control and flexibility when managing active rentals.
This feature lets owners extend a renter’s trip at no cost to the driver—directly from the TripCity dashboard.
You’ll pay only the transaction fee that covers insurance and platform services for the extra day(s).
When to Use Courtesy Extensions
Courtesy extensions are useful when unexpected situations arise and a small gesture helps maintain a smooth experience.
Use this feature when:
- Your vehicle needs maintenance or repairs that delay pickup or return.
- The renter experiences travel delays or emergencies.
- You need to accommodate schedule changes to maintain good communication and avoid penalties.
- A short extension helps prevent unnecessary claims or disputes.
Courtesy extensions show professionalism and help you keep high renter satisfaction and positive reviews.
What Happens When You Grant a Courtesy Extension
When you extend a trip as a courtesy:
- You authorize payment of the transaction fees for the added days.
- These fees cover continued insurance coverage and platform services.
- The renter is not charged for the added time.
Before confirming, the dashboard will show:
- The exact transaction fee for the courtesy days.
- Your updated running balance for the current week’s payout.
These fees are automatically deducted from your next payout.
How to Use the Feature
- Log in to your TripCity Owner Dashboard.
- Open the active rental you want to extend.
- Select “Extend Trip (Courtesy)”.
- Choose the number of days to extend.
- Review the fee details and confirm.
