Tire Issues During a Rental

How tire problems are handled during an active TripCity booking.

Who Is Responsible?

  • Owners are responsible for tire maintenance and replacement if issues arise during a rental due to normal wear and tear or manufacturer’s defects. 
  • If tire damage occurs due to normal wear, road conditions, or manufacturer defect, TripCity does not cover it.
  • Renter are responsible for flat tires and tire damage due to nail punctures or road conditions (hitting a curb, running over potholes)

Submitting an Incidental

  • Owners have the right to submit an incidental invoice through the TripCity dashboard to recover costs.
  • Drivers are responsible for paying incidental charges billed by the owner.
  • All communication and documentation should be done through the TripCity platform.

Renter Steps

  • If you experience a flat or other tire issue during an active rental:
    • Contact the owner immediately.
    • Document the issue with photos.
    • Follow the owner’s guidance on repair or replacement.
