Troubleshooting: Booking a Car

Steps to resolve booking problems and what to do if an owner doesn’t respond.

Checklist Before Booking

Make sure your account is fully set up and verified:

  • Your profile is verified.
  • If renting for gig work, your gig account is synced in your profile.
  • All previous balances are paid in full.
  • Your driver’s license is valid and not expired.
  • Your profile photo clearly shows your face.
  • The email and phone number on your account are accurate and belong to you.

If Your Booking Request Isn’t Approved

  • Once you submit a booking request, the owner is notified instantly via SMS and email.
  • You may send the owner a message through the dashboard chat. Mark the message as URGENT if your pick up time is nearing or your have additional questions for them.
  • There is no other way to contact owners outside the TripCity platform. Once they approve your request, you will have their details.

If the Owner Remains Unresponsive

  • If your pickup time is approaching and the owner hasn’t responded, you may cancel the booking request directly from your dashboard.
  • Any eligible refunds will be processed according to TripCity’s Refund Policy
