Windshield Issues During a Rental
How windshield damage is handled during an active TripCity booking.
Who Is Responsible?
- Owners are responsible for replacing or repairing windshields during rentals if damage occurs outside of a covered accident (Windshield chips or cracks)
- If a manufacturer recall or defect requires windshield replacement, TripCity does not cover it.
Submitting an Incidental
- Owners may submit an incidental invoice through the TripCity dashboard to recover windshield repair or replacement costs.
- Drivers are responsible for paying incidental charges billed by the owner.
Renter Steps
- If you notice windshield damage during your trip:
- Contact the owner immediately.
- Take photos for documentation.
- Wait for the owner’s guidance on next steps.
