Windshield Issues During a Rental

How windshield damage is handled during an active TripCity booking.

Who Is Responsible?

  • Owners are responsible for replacing or repairing windshields during rentals if damage occurs outside of a covered accident (Windshield chips or cracks)
  • If a manufacturer recall or defect requires windshield replacement, TripCity does not cover it.

Submitting an Incidental

  • Owners may submit an incidental invoice through the TripCity dashboard to recover windshield repair or replacement costs.
  • Drivers are responsible for paying incidental charges billed by the owner.

Renter Steps

  • If you notice windshield damage during your trip:
    • Contact the owner immediately.
    • Take photos for documentation.
    • Wait for the owner’s guidance on next steps.
