You’ll need to confirm that you have personal insurance meeting your state’s minimum liability requirements. When your vehicle is rented through TripCity, our policy provides coverage for the duration of the rental. When a renter books your car, our system will automatically generate an insurance card in the renter's name. This card will be available for them to download from their dashboard and upload to any rideshare platform they work with.
TripCity’s policy covers state minimums required for physical and property and up to $1M in liability. The deductible amount is the following:
$2,500 for vehicles ≤ $50,000 value
$5,000 for vehicles > $50,001 value
Get started by creating an owner account at TripCity.com and completing your profile. Once you connect your bank account to enable payouts, you’ll be able to list your vehicles.
Set your own rental minimums, pricing, and mileage limits. Just upload your photos and required documents—your vehicle can be approved in minutes.
We take a 5% platform fee—meaning you keep 95% of your earnings. There are no hidden charges or additional transaction fees.
TripCity has an internal tooling system which you can directly invoice the driver for incidentals, such as tolls, parking violations etc.
TripCity does not attempt to collect on your behalf and any amount submitted is handled between the owner and driver.
We have partnered with FleetIT who works with automating tolls directly to your dashboard. These are charged directly to the renter so you have full visibility and can avoid paperwork and late fees.

The vehicle must be eligible for ride share and have a minimum value of $5,000.
Payouts are processed every Monday for rental days from the previous week and sent directly to the bank account you’ve connected via Stripe in your profile.
Yes, it is the owner's responsibility to have updated paperwork at all times.
It is the owners responsibility to communicate with the driver and take necessary steps if the rental is late such as using GPS tracking capabilities to shut off the car or report it stolen.
In the event of an accident, please reference the insurance card from your rental listing. There will be a phone number to contact and file the claim.
